
Sharon Watkins is the Community Engagement Director at Community Action Agency, where she provides strategic leadership for community outreach initiatives that connect individuals and families with essential resources to address food insecurity and economic hardship. She is recognized for building collaborative partnerships, strengthening community engagement, and developing systems that improve access to critical services throughout the Greater Cincinnati region.
With extensive experience in program operations, volunteer engagement, and service delivery, Sharon has successfully led large-scale initiatives that expand community impact. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she directed emergency food distribution efforts in partnership with the Freestore Foodbank, coordinating multi-site operations that provided food assistance to more than 14,000 families in a single year.
Throughout her career, Sharon has remained committed to removing barriers to essential services and creating equitable opportunities for underserved populations. Her collaborative leadership, operational expertise, and passion for community service continue to strengthen organizations dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families.
Sharon earned a Bachelor of Science from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. She brings to board service a wealth of experience in community engagement, nonprofit operations, strategic partnerships, and organizational leadership, along with a steadfast commitment to serving the Greater Cincinnati community.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoys serving at her church, traveling, and spending quality time with her friends and family—especially her beloved granddaughters.
